CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 39 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy; Council President Jones; Councilmembers Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly and Williamson <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A POLICY TO ALLOW FOR <br />TEMPORARY PLACES OF BUSINESS IN THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some commercial property owners are <br />considering creative ways to attract new business and manage economic impacts; and <br />WHEREAS, to provide flexibility and afford opportunity for commercial property <br />owners, the City desires to allow temporary places of business to be established outside of <br />existing buildings on commercial properties; and <br />WHEREAS, the administration has prepared guidelines to permit temporary places of <br />business, subject to zoning review and approval, on a time-limited basis; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to accept the policy for Temporary Places of <br />Business, effective May 19, 2021 through December 31, 2021. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Temporary Places of Business policy, as set forth in Exhibit A, is <br />hereby incorporated as though re -written herein and, further, is hereby adopted as a policy in the <br />City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it will assist North Olmsted business owners address the ongoing pandemic <br />impacts; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED:� <br />First Reading: S—let' P— <br />Second Reading: Sj5pA <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: —�� <br />
