CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 43 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy; Council President Jones; Councilmembers Hemann, Kelly, Limpert and <br />Williamson <br />A RESOL UTION EXTENDING THE POLICY FOR TEMPORARY SIGNS IN <br />NONRESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of North Olmsted adopted a policy <br />for temporary signs in nonresidential districts, which policy was adopted to run concurrent with <br />restrictions imposed by the State of Ohio (Ordinance 2020-79); and <br />WHEREAS, since the State of Ohio has, by and large, lifted restrictions, effective June 2, <br />2021, the attached amendment is proposed to extend the temporary sign policy through <br />December 31, 2021, in order to continue to provide flexibility and to afford additional <br />opportunity for commercial property owners; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to extend the policy for Temporary Signs in <br />Nonresidential Districts through December 31, 2021. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the COVID-19 Temporary Signs in Nonresidential Districts Policy, <br />as set forth in Exhibit A, is hereby incorporated as though re -written herein and, further, is hereby <br />adopted as a policy in the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it will assist North Olmsted business owners with temporary signs during the <br />post -pandemic period; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: JUt"6 First Reading: 6 +Zā I <br />Second Reading: S, -50l o 9 - <br />Third Reading: i! ,5 1 <br />Committee: ā <br />ATTEST: <br />
