CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 43 By: Mayor Kennedy; Council President Jones; Councilmembers Hemann, Kelly, Limpert and Williamson A RESOL UTION EXTENDING THE POLICY FOR TEMPORARY SIGNS IN NONRESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of North Olmsted adopted a policy for temporary signs in nonresidential districts, which policy was adopted to run concurrent with restrictions imposed by the State of Ohio (Ordinance 2020-79); and WHEREAS, since the State of Ohio has, by and large, lifted restrictions, effective June 2, 2021, the attached amendment is proposed to extend the temporary sign policy through December 31, 2021, in order to continue to provide flexibility and to afford additional opportunity for commercial property owners; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to extend the policy for Temporary Signs in Nonresidential Districts through December 31, 2021. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That the COVID-19 Temporary Signs in Nonresidential Districts Policy, as set forth in Exhibit A, is hereby incorporated as though re -written herein and, further, is hereby adopted as a policy in the City of North Olmsted. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it will assist North Olmsted business owners with temporary signs during the post -pandemic period; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
