May 16, 2021
Chuck, please present the following comments to the administration
and council, to be read into the record at the meeting of council on
May 18, 2021. Thank You.
To Council and the Administration:
I saw that Elise Cassidy passed away this last week. She
was the wife of Parma Hts. Mayor, Paul Cassidy. Paul,
(Mayor) Joseph Gaul, and (Law Director) Tom O'Malley were
good friends and the City of Fairview Park, where she grew
up, hired Paul to represent us in negotiating our up coming
water agreement with Cleveland which was in my
committee. I remember Paul inviting me to have lunch with
him -- I didn't go but worked closely with him on that
agreement, hammering out the details, before it was
presented as legislation to council.
Fairview Pk. city council was a hands-on partner with the
administration — generating legislation and adjusting or
modifying what was sent to us in detail, including the city's
budget. There was nothing that the administration sent
down to us that was rubberstamped as -is -- yes or no.
Everything of substance was picked apart, examined, and
modified in committee meetings, where needed. This is
where I came from 28 years ago. So, with the upcoming
mayor's race, people need to be made aware of who is
capable of doing the job and who is just riding the wave of
an elected position.
Dennis Lambert
25057 Carey Ln.
