MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: Councilman Limpert Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Special Council Meeting Minutes of July 9, 2021 were approved as written. The Council Meeting Minutes of August 17, 2021 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading: Ordinances 2021-49, 2021-50 and 2021-51. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • Community Council was thanked for putting on the Homecoming Parade and Bryan O'Malley was congratulated on being named the 2021 North Olmsted Citizen of the Year. • Last weekend, the Fat Head's 5k race had about 430 runners and proceeds go to scholarships for North Olmsted residents. Director of Law Gareau: • At a previous meeting an update on potential homes for demolition was provided to Council. A Councilmember requested to know the addresses. The addresses are 27099 Driscoll. 5901 Fitch and 28757 Oring. The Director gave an update on each of the addresses and one additional address that had issues. The goal is to not go to court to get orders to demolish. The City tries to exhaust every other possible outcome to have the issue abated instead of demolishing the home, but will do what is needed to protect residents. • In the dog bite case, the City has been having conversations with the attorney of Amanda Ramos in regards to trying to get some compliance with confinement pending judicial review.
