CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 56 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS TO AWARD A <br />CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE <br />CLAGUE PARK RESTROOM AND WALKING PATH PROJECT, AS <br />DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE DIVISION OF <br />ENGINEERING, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has been awarded $100,000.00 by the State of <br />Ohio for capital improvements to Clague Park, described as the Clague Park Restroom and <br />Walking Path Project, consisting of new permanent restroom facilities and completion of the <br />partial walking path; and <br />WHEREAS, the award of grant funding is based upon reimbursement of the City of <br />North Olmsted following expenditure of funds and the City is responsible for the Project costs <br />estimated at $165,000.00, net $65,000.00 upon reimbursement of $100,000.00 grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid for said improvements <br />have been prepared and are on file in the Division of Engineering; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Community Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to make such <br />improvements at Clague Park, as set forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the <br />Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Community Development be and she is <br />hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to perform construction <br />services described as the Clague Park Restroom and Walking Path Project, as detailed in the <br />specifications now on file in the Division of Engineering, and that the Mayor, following approval <br />by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />
