Engineer shall have the qualifications required by CITY ordinances. Both the City Engineer and <br />the Assistant City Engineer shall be employees of the CONSULTING ENGINEER who are <br />named by CONSULTING ENGINEER and appointed by the Director of Planning and <br />Community Development, who may, in his discretion, accept or reject any employee named by <br />CONSULTING ENGINEER. City Engineer and Assistant City Engineer, upon appointment by <br />the Director of Planning and Community Development, shall execute (1) an addendum to this <br />Agreement, providing for each to be bound by all of the applicable the terms and conditions of <br />this Agreement and (2) a Ohio Revised Code Section 3517.13(I)(3) certification. <br />1.2 For providing the basic services, the CITY shall pay the City Engineer a retaining <br />fee in the sum of Forty -Eight Thousand Dollars ($48,000.00) per annum. The Assistant City <br />Engineer shall receive a retaining fee in the sum of Twenty -Four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) <br />per annum. The retaining fees shall be paid on a biweekly basis commencing upon the effective <br />date of this Agreement, and the amounts shall be subject to the contribution by the CITY and the <br />City Engineer and Assistant City Engineer, respectively, to PERS. In consideration of said <br />retaining fees, the City Engineer and the Assistant City Engineer shall provide the following <br />basic services: <br />(a) Give information and advice, as needed and as directed and/or authorized by the <br />Director of Planning and Community Development, to Council, the Mayor, <br />Directors and -Division Heads, residents, builders, etc. and other administrative <br />officials on problems that arise in the CITY pertaining to engineering, zoning, <br />building, etc. <br />(b) Prepare, as needed and as directed and/or authorized by the Director of Planning <br />and Community Development, formative or preliminary sketches, layouts, <br />estimates or reports, concerning the advisability of proceeding with any public <br />improvements contemplated by the CITY. <br />(c) Make recommendations, as directed and/or authorized by the Director of Planning <br />and Community Development, regarding the engineering features of dedication <br />plans, utility plans and such other requests of persons or firms as will require the <br />use of the special knowledge possessed by the City Engineer and/or Assistant City <br />Engineer. <br />(d) Attend Planning and Design Commission meetings, City Council meetings and <br />2 <br />
