CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 75 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A ONE <br />YEAR CONTRACT WITH PROCARE SERVICES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE <br />MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICES FOR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT <br />USED BY THE NORTH OLMSTED FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Fire Department has specialized emergency <br />medical equipment, specifically including LifePak brand heart monitors and Lucas brand chest <br />compression systems, all of which require routine maintenance and repair to insure proper <br />performance; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety that this <br />specialized maintenance and repair service be provided by ProCare Services pursuant to its <br />attached proposal at a cost of $19,855.01 to continue essential operations of the Fire Department; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into a one (1) year renewal contract with ProCare Services to provide maintenance and repair <br />services for said medical equipment for the North Olmsted Fire Department for the year 2022. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a one-year <br />service contract with ProCare Services for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, <br />2022, in order to provide maintenance and repair services for emergency medical equipment for <br />the North Olmsted Fire Department. The contract shall be in form and substance substantially <br />similar to the attached proposal, marked as Exhibit A, with only such changes to be hereinafter <br />made in said contract as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the <br />Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City <br />shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the Agreement by the Mayor and the <br />approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that the current contract expires in 2021 and requires renewal for 2022 to maintain <br />vital medical equipment systems, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />
