CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 77 <br />By: President of Council Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE <br />EMPLOYEE TRAINING SERVICES FROM KNOWBE4 AT A COST OF <br />$15,460. 00, AND FUR THER A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO EXECUTE <br />ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Division of Information Technology (IT) recommends that the City <br />acquire internet-based employee training service on the subject of computer security systems <br />from KnowBe4 at a cost of $15,460.00 for 36 months, to train the employees in how to protect <br />the City's computer systems from various forms of invasion or attack, particularly those <br />introduced via email communication; and <br />WHEREAS, IT has reviewed and compared online vendors and costs to provide these <br />vital services, necessary to protect the City computers from invasion by hackers; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />employee training for computer security systems and to further authorize the Mayor to execute <br />any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with KnowBe4. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase internet-based <br />employee training on the subject of computer security systems from Know134 at a cost of <br />$15,460.00 pursuant to proposed contract on file in the Department of Law. The Mayor is further <br />authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary registration documents. Any contract <br />executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this <br />Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />Division of Information Technology seeks immediate training of employees to enhance its <br />protection of the City's computer systems from attack via email communication; and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: �wCj�C� ��Z First Reading: 12 --?-2,( <br />Second Reading: <br />ThirdReading.- <br />S�Sp�nc'�C <br />
