CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 83 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT PROGRAM, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE A <br />CONTRACT WITH CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is qualified to apply for grant funding under the <br />Cuyahoga County Supplemental Grant Program administered by the Department of <br />Development for 2022, and available for a variety of safety and service projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Community Development recommends that <br />the City of North Olmsted submit a grant application to provide funding for the installation of <br />security cameras at various publicly accessible facilities, specifically including the Community <br />Park and Recreation Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the maximum grant award is $50,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Planning and Community Development to make application for said CDBG funding for said <br />project and to authorize the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Community Development to prepare, sign and submit an application for Cuyahoga County <br />Supplemental Grant funds for fiscal year 2022 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the <br />installation of security cameras at various publicly accessible facilities in North Olmsted, <br />specifically including the North Olmsted Community Park and Recreation Center and further <br />authorizes the Mayor, if a grant is awarded, to accept the grant and execute a contract with <br />Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately to meet the <br />Supplemental Grant application deadline on or before January 21, 2022, and further, provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: 0,2 a` First Reading: <br />Second Reading: 12�2?yZJ <br />Third Reading. ! _ (/- LA0 Lo)- <br />
