CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 86 <br />By: President of Council Jones <br />A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE POLICY TO ALLOW FOR <br />TEMPORARY PLACES OF BUSINESS IN THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 pandemic, some commercial property owners have <br />considered creative ways to attract new business and manage economic impacts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City responded by adopting policies to allow for temporary places of <br />business to be established outside of existing buildings on commercial properties in order to <br />provide more flexibility and afford additional opportunity for commercial property owners; and <br />WHEREAS, the administration proposed and this Council resolved to adopt guidelines to <br />permit temporary places of business, subject to zoning review and approval, on a time-limited <br />basis, which remain in effect through December 31, 2021 (Ord No. 2021-39); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to continue and extend the policy for <br />Temporary Places of Business through June 30, 2022. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Temporary Places of Business policy, as set forth in Exhibit A, is <br />hereby incorporated as though re -written herein and, further, is hereby adopted as a policy in the <br />City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that the current policy guideline will expire on December 31, 2021; and further <br />provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: _6"le <br />ATTEST.- <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: I Z - ZZ - 2 j <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: <br />
