CITY OHNORTH OLMSI E,U RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 78 Ry: President of Council .Zones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE EMAIL SECURITY SERYL('FS FROM WHERO ATA COST OF SI9,500.00, AND RELATED BARRACUDA EMAIL ARCHIVER AT A COST OF 56,000.00; AND FURTHER At THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCII PURCHASE, ,AND DECLARING AN E I L'RGFNCY. WHEREAS, the Division of Inlirrmation Iechnolo, ("II") recommends that the City acquire internet-based security systems I}om Mxl Iem at a cost of $19,500.00 to protect the C'itds cornputcr systems Zoon various forms of invasion or attack, particularly those introduced via email communication; and WHEREAS, in addition, at a cost of $6,000.00. Barracuda Bmail Archiver is recommended to maintain email communications; and WHEREAS, IT itts reviewed and compared online vendors and costs to provide these vital services, necessary to protect the City computers from invasion by hackers: and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said aceurity systems and to further authorize the Mawr to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with MxHero and Barracuda. NOW', THEREFORL, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ,NORTH OUYLSTED, COI; NTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND .STATF. OF OHIO: SECTION 1: Tha thu Mawr be and he is hereby authorized to purchase internet-based security systems from Msllero and Barracuda to manage email communication at a cost of $19.500.00 and 56.000.00 respectivcly, pursuant to proposals on file in the Department of Lam. The Mavor is further authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary rcaistration documents. Any contract avec tied bN' the Manor shall be in a firm and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resol won and be approved by the Director ofLaw. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to he an emeraencr measure immediately necessary lot the public health. safety and oelftee and for the further reason that the Division of Information Technology seeks immediate protection of the City's computer systems from attack sia email communication; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of C,numil, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by it L NAayor.
