CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022 - 20 <br />Ry: Mayor Dailey Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE FOUR (4) <br />NEW FORD EXPLORER UTILITY VEHICLES THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRA,N; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO F,XECl/TE ALL PURCHASE AGREEMENTS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Nonh Olmsted police Department requests authorization to replace four <br />(4) of its police cruisers due to their age and condition, upon the recommendation of the fleet <br />manager, and propose to purchase fou- (4) new Ford Lxplorer 1)tility vehicles. from Montrose <br />Ford. three vehicles at a price of $33,877.65 each, and the fourth vehicle at a cost of $34.178.65 <br />for a total of $135,811.61. and raid for Ginn the I IoteI Motel fund lot safety equipment: and <br />WHEREAS. it is ite desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase four (4) <br />new Ford Fxplorer 1614% vehicles. together "ith related police equipment, through the State <br />purchase program, as a permitted exception to the competitive bidding procedure that otherwise <br />would be required for such expenditures, and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any <br />documents required fur suJr cxpendlture, including, subject to approval ofthe Board of Control. <br />it necessaq a contract Hith the lowest and best vendor selected among State qualified vendors. <br />NOM, THEREFORE, BE 17' RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL Of' THE CITY Of - <br />NORTH OL,N.STF. D, C01,N77Y OF C'UYAHOG'A, AND S'T ATF. OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and she is herehy authorized to purchase through the <br />Slate Purchasing Program. which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pm'suant to the ('itc I hurter and Resolution No. 87-6. ]bur (4) new <br />Ford Explorer t tilitN vehicles. and related police equipment lox these vehicles, all of which is <br />described in the specificaiionc on file in the police Department. If necessary to effectuate any <br />such purchase through the safe Purchasing Program. the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute <br />any contract and/or other neee>sary clocuments required h) the authorized vendor(s), the State of <br />Ohio_ or the Charter. An} contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance <br />consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director olLuw. <br />SECTION 2: Thai lire purchase of and financing for said vehicles shall be through the <br />Hotel Motel Fund. <br />SECTION 3: Thnt IN, Resolution is herehy declared to he an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary lot the preservation of the public health, safety and wellare_ and further <br />for the reason that it is neees;ary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to meet the <br />manufacturer's deadline and insure availahility during the order period so that police Department <br />vehicles that are nearing the end of their useful lives can be replaced immediately for the safety <br />
