I was an original
member of the committee responsible for the creation of the Heights Hillcrest Communication Center
which is now a part of CVD. The decision to merge our individual centers into a single agency was
fraught with difficulty and resistance, however, I am grateful that we persevered. The decision to create
the center allowed our agencies to create a far more effective dispatch center with the ability to cover
shifts, train at a high level, and operate with our mutual/automatic aid partners without the usual built
In delays
Yourdecision to join CVD will allow your agencies to see many of the same benefits, although at an even
higher level than ever before based on experience gained over time by the CVD family. The greatest
benefit is the ability to very quickly place units from mutual and automatic aid agencies on scene in your
jurisdiction. In the past, this was done by calling each agency individually and hoping that we could
obtain the equipment needed. The delays created from this system have been eliminated and we
always know that we will have a full compliment of apparatus at each emergency.
Nick DiCicco has impressed me with his leadership and ability to effectively manage multiple locations
and the personnel associated with each center. Problems very seldom arise and are always quickly and
efficiently addressed. Joining CVD will improve your ability to serve your residents. Please feel free to
contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Lb
Chief Dave Freeman
(216) 291-2672
dfreema Lclevelandheights.gov
