CITY OE NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCH; NO. 2022 - 73 BY: Mayor Jones AN ORDINANCE AUTHORING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AGREEMENT WITH THE NORTH OLMSTED COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION AND DECLARING AN EMERGF,NC'Y, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of North Olmsted to promote health. satcty and general wellare of its residents and growth and developtnent of business and industr} within the City through the designation of a Communnx Improvement Corporation as such agency, and therefore, in accordance with the provision of Chapter 1724 of the Ohio Revised Code. the City formed and established the North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation: and WHEREAS, in order to achieNe purposes of advancing, encouraging, and promoting the industrial, economic. commercial and civic development of the City of North Olmsted. the City of North Olmsted and the North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation propose to enter into the Economic Development Agency Agreement: and WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Cih Council wishes to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Economic Development Agency Agreement with the North Olmsted Community Imprm-eluent Corporation as its agent for industrial. commercial. distribution, and research development and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THF_ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF .NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF On/O.- SECTION HIO:SECTION 1: "That the Yla%or is authorized and directed to execute the Economic Development Agency Agreement between the City and the North Olmsted Conduit y Improvement Corporation consistent with the provisions set forth in Chapter 1724 of the Ohio Revised Code and substantially in the limn of the agreement marked as -'E.vhibit A" and attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2: Thal it is fmmd and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and all, of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in nneetines open to the public and in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measm-e- the nature of which is the immediate need to establish the North Olmsted Communit} Iluprovement Corporation to preserve and protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Cily of North Olmsted. IhereRxe, this ordinance shall Lake effect immediately upon its massage and approval by the Mayor providing that it meets the statutory requirements for passage otherwise it shall lake ellecl and be in force from and alter the earliest period allowed by law.
