MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 13,2022 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist., Glassburn, <br />Hamann, Kelly, Limped, Scarl and Williamson <br />Also Present. Mayor Jones, Assistant Director of Law O'Malley and Director of <br />Economic and Community Development Upton. <br />President Brossard called the meeting to order at 7:01 p m. in Council Chambers. <br />ISSUE: Ordinance 2022-71. An Ordinance amending the definition of "Apartment" in <br />Section 1115.02 of the Planning and Zoning Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City <br />of North Olmsted entitled. "Definitions A -B,", for the purpose of updating definitions <br />associated with multiple residence district uses. <br />President Brossard reminded Council this was a Public Hearing and the goal is to hear <br />concerns and issues from the audience. Council may ask follow-up questions to any <br />audience comments, but Council will have a Building, Zoning & Development meeting on <br />this same topic this evening. At that point, Council may ask any further questions. <br />The Director of Economic & Community Development was asked to provide a brief <br />summary <br />Director Upton stated the change is necessary to bring the definition of "Apartment" <br />more in-line with the current market demand with respect to how the apartments are <br />built. The new definition will allow for townhome-style and row -style apartments which <br />are more in-line with the rental market. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />None. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />None. <br />Councilwoman Hemann requested a moment to state the issue was heavily discussed at <br />the planning level and emphasized its importance to align with the current real estate <br />trends. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before <br />Council, President Brossard adjourned the Public Hearing at approximately 7:06 p.m. <br />Beatrice Taylor, C16rk of Council Louis J.
