CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2022 - 93 BY: All of Council AN ORDINANCE FSTABLISHI,NG AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR COUNCIL -AT -LARGE MEMBERS FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2024, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2027. WHEREAS, this Council is required be Charter to fix and establish the compensation for elected officials. at least thirty (30) days before the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for election to such offices: and WHEREAS. the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for the Council -at - Large positions is the 14°' of June. 2023: and WHEREAS, it is necessary for this Council to adopt legislation with an effective date at least thirty (30) days prior to said nomination petitions deadline. or, m -wit on or before May 15, 2023. in order to comply with the requirements of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for compensation for the position of Council -al -Large for the years 2024 through 2027 by increasing the compensation by 0'% for 2024 & 2025. by 2.5% for 2026 and 2.0% for 2027, at the rate of pay as listed herein. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF.NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: khat the compensation for the office of Council -at -Large for the period commencing .lanuary I. 2024 through December 31 2027 shall be as tullows: Lffcetive January I, 2024 through December 31. 2024 - $14,828.39 I?ffective January 1. 2025 through December 31. 2025 - $14.828.39 Effective January 1. 2026 through December 31. 2026- $15,199.10 Effective January I, 2027 through December 31. 2027- $15.503.08 SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force front and after the earliest period allowed by law.
