Beatrice Tavlor
From: John Cotofan johncotofan@gmail.com,
Sent: Tuesday, November 15, 2022 4:34 PM
To: Beatrice Taylor
Subject: 5 curve on Canterbury
Caution: This email originated from outside the organization. Please take care when clicking links or
opening attachments. When in doubt, please contact the IT Department.
Ili flea.
Here is email for council recording purposes. I shared parts of this initial email with a few council members.
and I believe MrTimpert is how it made its way to you. Since I sent along the email, school has started and on
several occasions with the Maple has in particular (I in there with my son lot a 7:48am pickup) folks have
driven past the has with the lights flashing.
I'm attaching a few pictures of S curve on Canterbury and I allwood. In my 8 Vcars of living on Canterbi
this is the 3rd accident that 1'%c noticed involving either this tree of the fence behind the tree that has been hit
by a car. The white marks on the street are marks from flares, which tell me it was hit at night.
Fve circled the place where kids are now picked up and dropped of f for school. I'm asking that the cite install
some type of flashing light system/reflector arrows, and guardrails in front of the house pictured that can at least
give drivers some awareness of the" s curve.
From one of my neighbors that posted recently oil the Facebook, and shared with me separately.
"I was awoken M the crash when the lady ran oil the road. Ilial was the incident that I was referring to the
flipped car. We've had people end up in the middle of our yard when conditioning have been icy. We've had
people run oft -the road and hit trees across the street due to veering oil the road, either avoiding being hit from
,someone crossing the double yellow, or driving into the ditch and being pulled off the road.
The road used to be 25 mph many years ago. Though extra signage may help out with the speeding, I think
more of having guardrails to keep people from flying into the side" a]k/7ards is more of my concern. I won't let
me kids play past a certain point in our front yard.
Imagine owning a home in North Olmsted with small children and having to tell them "dont go past this line'
in your own front yard. Ifs a shame that it has come to this point. but hopefully safetc measure can be put into
place that can help mitigate any further accidents.
Appreciate your time in advance
John Colofan
440-666-9741
