CH Y OF NORTII OLMSTED IZESOLL'TION NO. 2023 -4 BY: Mavor.lones A RESOLUTION DISPENSING WITH THE RPP PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING TILE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SENIOR TRANSPORTATION C'ONNEC'TION OP' CUYAHOGA COUNTY TO PROVIDE FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, since 2014. the City of North Olmsted has contracted with the Senior Iransponation Connection (`ST(`) of Cuyahoga County to provide transportation services to yualilying seniors and persons with disabilities: and WHEREAS. since 2014. the Cite of North Olmsted has been satisfied with the services provided, has entered into renewal agreements to maintain this relationship and desires to enter into another reneunl for 2023 to continue to provide these critical public services: and WHEREAS, the North 01insted Senior ('.enter and STC are facing increasing costs Ior delivery of door to door transportation services. In order to continue providing, this valuable service to all older residents, and to cover the increased costs per trip, the STC Agrecineitt contains the following, schedule of rider charges: $2.00 per trip (each way) to North Olmsted Senior Center $4.00 per trip (each way) within North Olmsted $6.00 per trip (each wav) to Partner Community in Middleburg I leights 56.00 per trip (each wav) to Dial rSiS 57.00 per trip (each wavl outside of North Olmsted further, the STC group rate charges to the City x\ ill be as follows: $60.00 per trip (each wao) for groups up to five (5) individuals and $12.00 additional for each additional passenger above five (5): and WHEREAS, it is the desire A this Council, in order to provide for the public health. safety and general welfare of the residents of the City of North Olmsted, to authorize the Mayor to renew its Transportation SciNices Contract with STC and increase the costs for riders. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA ( O(INTY, AND STATE OF OIIIO: SECTION l: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into a Transportation Services Contract with the Senior Transportation Connection. a copy of which is attached hereto and marked as Fshibit "A." from February I. 2021 to Deccmher 3l. 2023. 1lie contract shall be substantiallu similar to the contact attached hereto with only such changes as are deemed not adverse to the Citp of North Olmsted and as otherwise are approved by the Director of I,aw. If there one no cost increases in 2024. then the Mayor further is authorized to enter into a renewal ' additional contract in years following, provided that there arc no cost increases.
