CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023-3 <br />By: Maym .tones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH MOTOROLA TO PURCHASE FIFTY (50) MOTOROLA <br />WATCHGUARD BODY CAMERAS, TOGETHER WITH RELATED <br />TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, FOR DFPLOYME.YT BY THF NORTH <br />OLMSTED DIVISION OF POLICE, ATA COST OF 5139,569.00 THROUGH <br />THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM AND FUNDED THROUGH GRANT <br />FUNDS FROM THEO1110 OFFICE OF CRIMINAL .IUSTICF_ SERVICES <br />AND DECLARLNG AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Satety has recommended that the City of North <br />Olmsted receive and spend approved Ohio Criminal Justice Services fonds, in the amount of <br />$139J69.00 (with no matching requirement). to equip North Olmsted Division of Police with <br />Motorola Watch(uard body cameras, together with related technical assistance: and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />cameras, through the State Purchase Program. as a permitted exception to the competitive <br />bidding procedure that would otherwise be required for such expenditures, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor to execute contract documents required for such expenditure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of' <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAIIOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: "That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase, through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the C'.ity Charter and Resolution No. 87-6. lift) (50) <br />Motorola WatchOuard body cameras from Motorola, as described in the specifications on life in <br />the Public Safev, Department. further, as may be necessary. the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />execute any contract documents required by the authorized vendor(s). the State of Ohio, or the <br />Charter / Ordinances. <br />SECTION 2: that this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary fur the preservation of the public health. safety and welfare and for the <br />turther reason that such cameras will better provide for the safety of employees of the Division of <br />Police and the public; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council. it shall take effect and be in force immediate]) upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />I <br />LL� (.i-(,Lv�w First Reading 1-17- 23__ <br />Second Reading. 7 -�Z _ <br />Third Reading, <br />
