CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLU I [ON NO. 2023 - 32 <br />BY: Mavor Joncs- <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TILE DIRECTOR OF <br />RECREATION & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OP -PERIMETER NETTING FOR INSTALLATION <br />AROUND THE TURF A7' THE NORTH OLMSTED RECREATION <br />CENTER FIELD HOUSE AND, UPON APPROVAL OF THE BOARD <br />OI' CONTROL, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, specifications (or the acquisition and installation of'stfety perimeter <br />nettinc around the I itrf at the North Olmsted Recreation Center Ficld I Iouse have been <br />prepared and are on file in the Office of Director of Recreation & Public FrILagcmenC <br />and <br />WHEREAS. it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director to advertise <br />]or bids ler the purchase of and installation of such equipment to safeguard the athletic <br />activities on and around the "furl field, and to authorize the Mavor, upon approval of the <br />Board of Control. to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TILE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OFOLIIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Recreation & Public Engagement be and he is <br />hereby authorized to advertise for bids fnr the purchase and installation of safety <br />perimeter netting systems and equipment torr use in conjunction with the lurf field at the <br />North Olmsted Recreation ('enter in accordance with specifications now on file in his <br />oflice- and further that. upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to enter into a contract and esccute the same on behalf of the 6o, of North <br />Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. the contract shall be in form and substance as <br />approved by the Director of Law and upon certification of funds by the Director of <br />Finance, in such form as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approaed <br />by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially <br />adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the Agreement by <br />the Mayor and the approval of the Agreement be the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: Thal this Resolution is herch}• declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately neceasarc torr the preservation of the public health. smet% and <br />welfare_ and_ additionally, it is necessary then Ihk Resolution go into effect immediate& <br />to ensure the installation on or before June. 2023, to coincide with recreation activities <br />scheduled at the Field I louse. and provided it recciees the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />
