CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 44 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH CDW CORPORATION (ALSO KNOWN AS "CDW-G') <br />TO PURCHASE DATA EQUIPMENT FOR INSTALLATION AT THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED RECREATION CENTER TO IMPROVE WI -FI <br />CAPACITY, AT A COST OF $137,901.49 THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it is recommended that the North Olmsted Recreation Center improve its <br />data technology by the purchase and installation of various equipment from CDW-G, in the <br />amount of $137,901.49, in order to increase the capacity of its Wi-Fi system and otherwise <br />support partnership with service providers; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />equipment, through the State Purchase Program, as a permitted exception to the competitive <br />bidding procedure that would otherwise be required for such expenditures, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor to execute contract documents required for such expenditure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor he and she is hereby authorized to purchase, through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, various items <br />of computer and related equipment from CDW Corporation (aka CDW-G), as described in the <br />proposals on file with the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement, at a cost of <br />$137,901.49. Further, as may be necessary, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any <br />contract documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter / <br />Ordinances. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that delivery and installation of such equipment could take more than 6 months <br />and will otherwise delay the enhancement of systems at the Recreation Center; and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: jApIjI71 13 First Reading: a3 <br />Second Reading: -a3 <br />ThirdReadin : SitS al <br />Committee: W &"`�� <br />
