CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 49 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC <br />AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO SOLICIT STATEMENTS <br />OF QUALIFICATIONS FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR <br />VARIOUS CITY PROJECTS THROUGH CALENDAR YEAR 2024, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Economic and Community Development has <br />requested that this Council authorize him to use Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted <br />Codified Ordinances, to implement an R.F.Q. process to select design professionals to <br />complete various City projects in 2024, followed by production of detailed specifications <br />for competitive bidding of such public improvements, and subject to further authorization <br />by Council where required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Economic <br />and Community Development, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director to <br />use the R.F.Q. process to select appropriate design professionals to prepare the projects <br />for public bid and, further, to authorize the Mayor to enter into contracts with the design <br />professionals selected in the R.F.Q. process. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO.- <br />SECTION <br />HIO:SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development he <br />and he is authorized to implement the R.F.Q. process to select design professionals to <br />design suitable replacement options for various City projects in 2024. <br />SECTION 2: The Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is <br />authorized to enter into contracts with the design professionals selected in the R.F.Q. <br />process. Said professional services agreement shall be in such form as approved by the <br />Director of Law, with only such terms and conditions as are not substantially adverse to <br />the City. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and <br />for the further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in <br />order that the City may begin renovations on Fire Station 1, and further, provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
