CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - 48 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 139.99(6) OF CHAPTER 139 OF <br />THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br />SAFETY," FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A NEW FULL-TIME <br />POSITION OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST IN THE DIVISION <br />OF POLICE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, Division of Police, seeks amendment of <br />the Organizational Chart for the purpose of creating a new full-time position of Information <br />Systems Specialist; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety and the desire of <br />Council to amend Section 139.99(b) for the purpose of creating said position in the Division of <br />Police. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 139.99(b) "Composition and Organization of the Department <br />of Public Safety" which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached <br />to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended <br />and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in the attached Exhibit B. <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with <br />this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or <br />inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />Police Department can utilize the Information Systems Specialist to coincide with installation <br />and introduction of newly acquired technologies; and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: First Reading: 11-17--13 <br />Second Reading. �3 a3 <br />ThirdReading S Ln <br />Committee: _4 andGct�� � <br />
