CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 58 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING <br />AWARDED BY THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY COUNCIL IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $35,000.00 TO PROVIDE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS <br />AT SPRINGVALE GOLF COURSE AND BALLROOM,• FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO NECESSARY <br />AGREEMENTS THEREFORE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, Ohio has been awarded grant funding from the <br />Cuyahoga County Council in the amount of $35,000.00 in ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) <br />funds, for the purpose of providing for the construction of public improvements at Springvale <br />Golf Course & Ballroom, specifically to install a ramp to improve the safety of access and insure <br />compliance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept the grant funding and authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into any funding agreements with Cuyahoga County and/or the State of Ohio to secure ARPA, <br />including, if required, matching funds required of the City; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio finds and determines <br />that it is in the best interest of the City to accept ARPA funding awarded by Cuyahoga County <br />Council in the amount of $35,000.00 in order to provide for construction of improvements at <br />Springvale Golf Course & Ballroom, specifically, installation of ramping systems to improve <br />safe access and insure ADA compliance. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council approves and hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute <br />any and all Agreement forms and related documents to accept the grant funding, as awarded, and <br />further authorizes the commitment of matching funds, if necessary, to secure the grant funding, <br />on such legal forms as shall be approved by the Director of Law and upon certification of funds <br />as shall be certified by the Director of Finance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the adoption of the Resolution were taken in an open meeting <br />of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in <br />those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law. <br />SECTION 4: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to fulfill Cuyahoga County Council and <br />ARPA requirements, and father provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />
