CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - 60 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR COMPREHENSIVE <br />GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED FOR 1013, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF <br />CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted desires to go to market to request and <br />acquire proposals for Comprehensive General Liability Insurance, including various <br />forms of coverage described as and intended to insure Employers, Stop Gap, Employee <br />Benefits, Public Officials, Employment Practices, Law Enforcement Officers, <br />Automobile, Umbrella/Excess, Property & Boiler, Inland Marine, EDP, CYBER, and <br />Crime to be in effect on October 16, 2023; <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Human <br />Resources to solicit proposals for said insurance coverage and to further authorize the <br />Mayor, upon approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an agreement or agreements <br />for the purchase of said insurance policy and/or policies with the proposals deemed to <br />provide sufficient comprehensive general liability and related or supplemental insurance <br />at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OFNORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OFOHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby <br />authorized to solicit or request proposals for Comprehensive General Liability coverage <br />for the City of North Olmsted, including provisions described as Employers, Stop Gap, <br />Employee Benefits, Public Officials, Employment Practices, Law Enforcement Officers, <br />Automobile, Umbrella/Excess, Property & Boiler, Inland Marine, EDP, CYBER, and <br />Crime to be in effect on October 16, 2023, in accordance with the specifications now on <br />file in her office and that, upon approval by the Board of Control, that the Mayor is <br />hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements for said insurance policy with <br />the most qualified firm to provide the umbrella insurance at a price that is fair and <br />reasonable to the City. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect <br />immediately to solicit and review proposal in order to secure coverage effective on <br />October 16, 2023; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />
