CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 72 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTIONAUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A GIFT, ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, FOR THE BENEFIT OF <br />THE OXCART FOOD PANTRY, FROM THE TRUSTEE OF THE LINDA <br />SUE GREGSON TRUST, IN THE AMOUNT OF $91,671.37, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Legal counsel for the Linda Sue Gregson Trust has informed the City of <br />North Olmsted that the Oxcart Food Pantry is the recipient of a donation in the amount of <br />$92,612.37; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept this generous <br />donation from the Linda Sue Gregson Trust, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative <br />Code, and join her expression of gratitude on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, the Oxcart <br />Pantry and the entire community; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor's acceptance of this <br />donation in an amount over $1,000.00 with the sincerest appreciation of Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OFNORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Mayor to accept a donation <br />from the Linda Sue Gregson Trust in the amount of $92,612.37 to be used by the Oxcart Food <br />Pantry and further authorizes the Mayor to execute any documentation necessary or appropriate <br />to document receipt of such donation. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council initiate, on behalf of this Council and the City <br />of North Olmsted, to direct correspondence thanking the Trustee for their generous donation to <br />the Oxcart Food Pantry. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that the Oxcart Food Pantry may put this gift to immediate use; and further <br />provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: 'LLt a0,3L-3 First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading: <br />COMMittee: -L AN.i <br />ZEST <br />2AIA 6"— — <br />BEATRICE O <br />Clerk of Council <br />LOWNJ.
