CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 82 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF TO MAKE <br />APPLICATIONONBEFIALFOFTHE CITYOFNORTHOLMSTED TO THE <br />STATE OF OHIO TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AMBULANCE <br />TRANSPORTATION GRANT PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND EXECUTE <br />AGREEMENTS THEREFORE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, through its Fire Department, has alerted that <br />the City of North Olmsted may be eligible to be awarded up to $20,000.00 in grant funding <br />administered by the State of Ohio, Ambulance Transportation Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that the City Council authorize the Fire Chief to apply for <br />grant funding, which does not require any matching funds or financial participation; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Fire Chief to apply for the Ohio <br />Ambulance Transportation Grant Program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Fire Chief be and he is hereby authorized to apply for grant funding <br />from the State of Ohio, specifically the Ohio Ambulance Transportation Program, and if awarded, <br />further authoring the Mayor to sign any and all Agreement documents with the State of Ohio <br />Cuyahoga County to accept such grant funding for the benefit of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to meet the <br />application deadline of June 22, 2023 and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: IAL aOt 20x -j First Reading.'
