CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 73 By: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FORBIDS TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE BROOKPARK ROAD UNDERPASS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (PHASE 1), AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. WHEREAS, the Brookpark Road Underpass Improvement Project (Phase I) involves the design and construction services necessary to improve Brookpark Road and/or right-of-way beneath Interstate 480; and WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid for said improvements have been prepared and are on file in the Department of Economic and Community Development; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Economic and Community Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to make such improvements, as set forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OFOHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract or contracts to perform construction services described as the Brookpark Road Underpass Improvement Project (Phase I), as detailed in the specifications now on file, and that the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder.
