CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - 68 BY: Mayor Jones AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF NEW CUSTOM DECORATIVE FENCING AND BRANDING OF SAME ON THE BRIDGE CARRYING GREAT NORTHERN BOULEVARD OVER INTERSTATE ROUTE 480. WHEREAS, The State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), has identified the need for the construction of an Improvement Project, specifically custom decorative fencing and the installation of aluminum lettering of the name "NORTH OLMSTED" attached to the fence on each side of the Bridge which carries Great Northern Boulevard over Interstate Route 480; WHEREAS, the ODOT Agreement provides for approval of the improvement and requires the City to maintain same; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to sign, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, an Agreement with ODOT concerning this matter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted, by and through Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones, does hereby enter into an Agreement with the State of Ohio, pursuant to attached Agreement form with ODOT, and that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement, providing for construction and maintenance of the described Improvement Project. SECTION 2: That the City shall transmit to the Director of Transportation a fully executed copy of this Agreement and otherwise certify its legislative approval on forms to the satisfaction of ODOT. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
