CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 104 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE TWO (2) <br />NEW FORD POLICE INTERCEPTORS FROM MONTROSE FORD AT A <br />TOTAL COST OF $84,082.74, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL PURCHASE AGREEMENTS, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety and the North Olmsted Police Department <br />requests authorization to replace two (2) of its police Interceptor cruisers due to their age and <br />condition, upon the recommendation and assistance of the Fleet Manager, and propose to <br />purchase two (2) Ford Interceptor vehicles from Montrose Ford at a price of $42,041.37 each, for <br />a total of $84,082.74; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase two (2) <br />new Police Interceptors vehicles, together with related police equipment, as described in detail by <br />Solicitation documents attached as Exhibit A, based on pricing advantages offered through the <br />State Purchase Program, and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any documents required <br />for such expenditure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase two (2) new <br />Ford Interceptor Police vehicles from Montrose Ford at a cost of price of $42,041.37 each, for a <br />total of $84,082.74, based on and pursuant to the terms outlined by the Solicitation attached as <br />Exhibit A, which pricing advantages were generated and quoted through the State Purchasing <br />Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to <br />participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6. The Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized <br />vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a <br />form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the <br />Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to meet the <br />deadline for acceptance of contract proposal with pricing and to insure availability of vehicles for <br />delivery to the Police Department due to limited supply and to replace other vehicles that are <br />nearing the end of their useful lives and to ensure the safety of the community, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
