CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 — 99 <br />• By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A GASOLINE <br />POWERED LEAF VACUUM TO ASSIST IN PERFORMANCE OF THE <br />CITY'S ANNUAL LEAF PICKUP PROGRAM, AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br />FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO <br />CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the bid specifications for a leaf vacuum as prepared by the Director of <br />Public Service are on file with the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of a leaf vacuum and to further authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into a contract with the lowest and best bidder, after Board of Control approval. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CO UNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />• SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of a leaf vacuum according to plans and specifications on file <br />and that the Mayor further is hereby authorized, upon approval of the Board of Control, to enter <br />into such a contract and execute the same with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately to secure the leaf <br />vacuum for use in late autumn of 2023 after the completion of the annual leaf ward sweeps; and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST <br />BEATRICE TAYLOR <br />Clerk of Council �/ .,' 2 <br />APPROVED: �� — GA^3 <br />MAYOR NICOLE DAILEMONES <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />9-19 a.3 <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: <br />i-pnrytfnj11 <br />of Council <br />APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM <br />Al Michael R.
