CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 -114 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SENIOR CENTER <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE WESTERN <br />RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON AGING ("WRAAA") FOR A TITLE IHC <br />NUTRITION GRANT FOR 2024,1025, 2026 AND 2027AND, IFA WARDED, <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE WRAAA TO ACCEPT THE GRANT FUNDS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging ("WRAAA") provides <br />nutrition programs, including a Congregate Meal Program, with meals served to senior citizens in <br />greater Cleveland; and <br />WHEREAS, the WRAAA Congregate Meal Program offers a vital service and benefit for <br />the citizens and is one of many outstanding nutrition programs conducted at the North Olmsted <br />Senior Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's proposal, if funded, will provide approximately 10,000 meals <br />annually during an estimated 125 serving days; and <br />WHEREAS, up to $20,000.00 in grant funds will be requested per year to reimburse for <br />staffing; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Senior Center <br />Administrator to make application for the Title IIIC Nutrition Grant and to authorize the Mayor <br />to enter into an Agreement with the WRAAA to provide for the 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 <br />Congregate Meal Program at the North Olmsted Senior Center. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMS TED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Senior Center Administrator is authorized to make application for the <br />Title IIIC Nutrition Grant with the WRAAA and, if awarded, the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />enter into an Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the Western Reserve Area <br />Agency on Aging to provide for the 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 Congregate Meal Program, <br />which shall be in form and substance as Exhibit A, with only such changes to be hereinafter <br />made in said contracts as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the <br />Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />
