CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 -101 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOL UTIONA UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OFRECREATIONAND <br />PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD <br />OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE <br />SPRINGVALE ADA RAMP PROJECT, AS DETAILED IN <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br />FOLLOWING APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER <br />INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement recommends that the <br />City of North Olmsted advertise for bids to enter into a contract for construction services for the <br />Springvale ADA Ramp Project based upon routine maintenance schedules, and to avoid <br />interference with golfing operations, with cost estimates exceeding $50,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Recreation and <br />Public Engagement to advertise for bids for construction services for the Springvale ADA Ramp <br />Project, m required by law, and to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest <br />and best bidder for same, following Board of Control approval. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement be and he is <br />hereby authorized to advertise for bids for construction services for the Springvale ADA Ramp <br />Project in accordance with the bid specifications now on file, and that following approval by the <br />Board of Control, the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract and execute the <br />same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to expedite the <br />bidding process in order to schedule contractors to work in season, and further provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />I W0 112), <br />First Reading: q —lCl <br />Second Reading: i 0 3 -27 <br />Third Readin : I - <br />Committee: .�'b(c �S <br />
