MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 3, 2023 <br />Present: Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, Madden, Scad and Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Economic Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant <br />to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. <br />Absent: Council President Brossard <br />Council President Pro Tempore Williamson called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of September 19, 2023 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On first reading Ordinance 2023- <br />105. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones updated Council and residents on the Cell Tower project. Noting discussions <br />continue on this project which will fund renovations to North Olmsted Community Park, and the <br />best proximity for the proposed cell tower at North Olmsted Community Park. To that end, two <br />North Olmsted Community Park Master Plan Renovation public meetings are scheduled from 7- <br />8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the North Olmsted Community Cabin, 28114 Lorain <br />Road. City Administration members and staff will be on hand and available to answer questions. <br />Renderings of park renovations will be on display for public input. Possible improvements may <br />include renovated ball fields/green space, restrooms, walking trails, additional parking and a <br />new performance area. The Spruce Elementary School site plan improvements will also be <br />shared. Suggestions and community input are encouraged for the future of the planned <br />recreation area. The second in the series of meetings will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, <br />October 25, 2023. <br />• The City took delivery today of our newest Fleet vehicle, a 2020 model salt truck, which replaces <br />a 2009 vehicle that is now obsolete. The new truck has a stainless steel roll -off which allows <br />interchangeability with a dump bed. Other features include an updated cab with air conditioning <br />and a stainless steel plow. The vehicle is part of the International 7400 Series. <br />• A new 2022 Police cruiser has also been added to our police fleet, it is the first of three new <br />vehicles. <br />
