CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 -125 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND <br />COMMUNITYDEVELOPMENT TOMAREAPPLICATIONONBEHALFOF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY LAND <br />REUTILIZATION CORPORA TION ("LAND BANK) FOR PARTICIPATION <br />AS A SUB -RECIPIENT OF FUNDING RECEIVED BY THE LAND BANK <br />FROM THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENT FOR BUILDING <br />DEMOLITION AND SITE REVITALIZATION TO BE USED BY THE CITY <br />FOR COSTSASSOCIATED WITHTHESPRUCEAND/OR FORESTSCHOOL <br />REDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTEALL CONTRACTSANDACCEPTSUCHFUNDINGIF <br />AWARDED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Economic and Community Development has alerted to a <br />funding opportunity with the Cuyahoga County Land bank, which funding would allow the City to <br />apply as a sub -recipient of funds received by the Land bank from the State of Ohio Department of <br />Development for its Demolition and Site Revitalization Program; and <br />WHEREAS, funding is possible up to $500,000.00, with a 25% match required by the City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the funding would be used to assist the City in costs incurred for the demolition <br />and site redevelopment for the Spruce and / or Forest School demolition and redevelopment projects; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that that City of North Olmsted <br />pursue this unique and important financial opportunity for the important redevelopment projects at <br />Forest and / or Spruce Schools. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and he is <br />hereby authorized to apply for funding from the Cuyahoga County Land Reutilization Corporation <br />("Land bank") in the maximum amount allowed perprogram guidelines in order to be a sub -recipient <br />to funds received by the Land Bank from the State of Ohio, Department of Development for the <br />State's Demolition and Site Revitalization Program, and if awarded, further authorizing the Mayorto <br />sign any and all Agreement documents with the State of Ohio, Cuyahoga County and / or the <br />Cuyahoga County Land Reutilization Corporation to accept such funding for the Spruce and / or <br />Forest demolition and redevelopment projects for the benefit of the City of North Olmsted. <br />
