Council Minutes of 10-17-2023 <br />Resolution 2023-124 introduced by Mayor Jones and placed on first reading. A Resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to accept grant funding in the amount of $256,588.00 from the U.S. <br />Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (CLIP), entitled "Rural and Small Department Violent <br />Crime Reduction Program" in order to expand the pool of police officers trained on the Advanced Crisis <br />Intervention Team (CIT); and further authorizing the Mayor to execute acceptance documentation with <br />the Department of Justice as well as with the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and <br />Education and Analytics, and declaring an emergency. <br />Council President Pro Tempore scheduled a Committee of the Whole for Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at <br />6:30 p.m. to hear a presentation sponsored by Director Upton on the Aerozone Alliance. <br />Scheduled committee meetings for Tuesday, October 24, 2023: <br />Councilwoman Williamson scheduled a Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee meeting for <br />Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Resolutions 2023-112, 2023-123 and 2023-124. The <br />Mayor's designees were asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Hemann scheduled a Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee meeting for <br />Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 7:10 p.m. to discuss Resolutions 2023-117, 2023-118 and 2023-119. The <br />Service Director and Recreation Director were asked to attend. <br />Councilman Scarl scheduled an Environmental Control Committee meeting for Tuesday, October 24, <br />2023, at 7:15 p.m. to discuss Resolution 2023-122. The Mayor's designees were asked to attend. <br />Councilman Madden scheduled a Streets and Transportation Committee meeting for Tuesday, June 33, <br />2023 at 7:20 p.m. to discuss Resolutions 2023-115, 2023-116, 2023-120 and 2023-121. The Mayor's <br />designees were asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Williamson moved to excuse the absence of Council President Brossard. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Madden and passed unanimously. <br />Roll Call: <br />Yes: Williamson, Scarl, Limpert, Madden, Glassburn, Hemann, Gilchrist <br />No: None <br />Motion carried.
