CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 146 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE <br />DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO TRANSFER THE SUM OF <br />SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS (%75,000.00) FROM THE <br />GENERAL FUND TO THE NORTH OLMSTED COMMUNITY <br />IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION FOR GENERAL OPERATIONS <br />AND TO FUND THE NORTH OLMSTED NEIGHBORHOOD <br />BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted in 2022 authorized the formation of the <br />North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation to promote health, safety and <br />general welfare of its residents and growth and development of business and industry <br />within the City, and to advance and pursue such policy through the formation of a <br />community improvement corporation; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation <br />thereafter entered into an Economic Development Agency Agreement with the City of <br />North Olmsted to achieve the objectives of the newly -formed North Olmsted <br />Community Improvement Corporation; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and the Administration to transfer to <br />the North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation from the General Fund for its <br />initial general operations the sum of $50,000.00 and further transfer the sum of <br />$25,000.00 to fund the North Olmsted Neighborhood Beautification Program, to be <br />administered by the North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO.- <br />SECTION <br />HIO:SECTION 1: That the Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and <br />directed to transfer to the North Olmsted Community Improvement Corporation the <br />aggregate sum of seventy-five thousand ($75,000.00) for the following purposes: (1) for <br />its initial general operations the sum of $50,000.00; (2) for initial funding for the North <br />Olmsted Neighborhood Beautification Program the sum of $25,000.00. <br />SECTION 2: This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare <br />and it is further necessary for this Ordinance to be in effect immediately upon its passage <br />in order to transfer the funds in the year of appropriation (2023); and provided this <br />Resolution receives the affirmative vote of five members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor <br />
