CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 4 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO <br />SOLICIT STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS (S.O.Q.) FROM <br />QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS TO SERVE AS THE CITY'S <br />ARBORIST TO ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 950, <br />"TREE PRESERVATION AND MANAGEMENT"; AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONSULTING <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE PROFESSIONAL SELECTED IN THE <br />S.O.Q. PROCESS, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 112 (Personal Service Contracts) outlines procedure for the <br />City to solicit Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) from qualified individuals or frons, <br />which process allows for competitive proposals based on relative qualifications and <br />allows the Board of Control to select the best qualified personal service provider; and <br />WHEREAS, The Administration seeks the professional services of an Arborist to <br />enforce the provisions of Chapter 950, "Tree Preservation and Management'; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration is authorized to proceed with the process <br />outlined in Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances to solicit S.O.Q.'s in <br />order to hire a City Arborist for the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize and initiate the S.O.Q. <br />process for said selection, and upon selection by the Board of Control, to authorize the <br />Mayor to enter into a contract for such personal and professional services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NOR TH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Administration be and is hereby authorized to solicit or <br />request Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) proposals from qualified individuals or <br />firms to provide arborist consulting and professional services required to administer and <br />enforce the provisions of Chapter 950, "Tree Preservation and Management" and for <br />review in accordance with Chapter 112 of the Codified Ordinances and based on <br />specifications described, with approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to enter into an agreement for such services with the most qualified individual <br />to provide the services at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />
