CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2024 -16 By: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR DIESEL FUEL AND GASOLINE PRODUCTS FOR USE BY THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS PER SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, AFTER APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT TO PURCHASE SUCH PRODUCTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City requires diesel fuel and gasoline products for 2024 and the Department of Public Service seeks authorization to initiate bid procedures before the expiration of the current contract on March 31, 2024. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Department of Public Service is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for diesel fuel and gasoline products for use in the City of North Olmsted, in accordance with specifications on file, and that upon approval and award by the Board of Control to the lowest and best bidder, that the Mayor is further hereby authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to maintain fuel supply; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
