CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 42 BY: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF RECREATION AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TO INITIATE THE PROCESS TO CONDUCT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP'S) FOR CLEANING SERVICES FOR SPRINGVALE CLUBHOUSE AND BALLROOM, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR SAME WITH THE BEST PROPOSED CONTRACTOR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, as a licensed food service facility serving the public, Springvale is subject to the highest standards of cleanliness to achieve compliance with state and local health code requirements; and WHEREAS, the City has previously engaged third party vendors to provide cleaning services for the Springvale Ballroom and Clubhouse; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement to request proposals for cleaning services for the Springvale Ballroom and Clubhouse, in accordance with the request for proposals prepared by the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement; and further to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the entity selected in the RFP process and approved by the Board of Control. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOR TH OLMSTED, CO UNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement be and he hereby is authorized to request proposals for cleaning services for Springvale Ballroom and Clubhouse in accordance with the request for proposals prepared by the Director and on file in his office for a period of two (2) years with a City option for an additional one (1) year. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately due to the golf and wedding season already underway, and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the members of this Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
