CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 38 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO <br />AN AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL <br />RESOURCES (ODNR) TO ACCEPT STATE CAPITAL FUNDING IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $150,000.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF <br />IMPROVEMENTS AT THE NORTH OLMSTED COMMUNITY <br />PARK, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural <br />Resources (ODNR), has awarded the City of North Olmsted $150,000.00 in State Capital <br />funding for the construction of planned improvements at the North Olmsted Community <br />Park; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to sign, on <br />behalf of the City of North Olmsted, an Agreement with ODNR in order to accept the <br />funding to support the park improvements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOFCUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into a <br />Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the State of Ohio, Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), pursuant to attached Agreement form <br />(Exhibit A) with ODNR, providing for construction and maintenance of the described <br />improvements at the North Ohnsted Community Park in consideration of ODNR funding <br />/ grant in the amount of $150,000.00. <br />SECTION 2: That the City shall transmit to the Director of Natural Resources a <br />fully executed copy of this Agreement and otherwise certify its legislative approval on <br />forms to the satisfaction of ODNR. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and in order to <br />meet the ODNR deadline of acceptance of grant funding; and further provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take effect upon its <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: OJ First Reading: <br />Second Reading: 7 —.J <br />Third Reading: 5 aJ(—a <br />Committee.
