CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 38 BY: Mayor Jones AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES (ODNR) TO ACCEPT STATE CAPITAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS AT THE NORTH OLMSTED COMMUNITY PARK, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), has awarded the City of North Olmsted $150,000.00 in State Capital funding for the construction of planned improvements at the North Olmsted Community Park; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to sign, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, an Agreement with ODNR in order to accept the funding to support the park improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOFCUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into a Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), pursuant to attached Agreement form (Exhibit A) with ODNR, providing for construction and maintenance of the described improvements at the North Ohnsted Community Park in consideration of ODNR funding / grant in the amount of $150,000.00. SECTION 2: That the City shall transmit to the Director of Natural Resources a fully executed copy of this Agreement and otherwise certify its legislative approval on forms to the satisfaction of ODNR. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and in order to meet the ODNR deadline of acceptance of grant funding; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take effect upon its approval by the Mayor.
