CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 56 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH AUTOMATION MAILING AND SHIPPING <br />SOLUTIONS (AMSS) TO PROVIDE MAILING AND POSTAGE <br />SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the current postage machine is being "refired" by AMSS and new <br />postal regulations take effect on June 30; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposal from Automation Mailing and Shipping Solutions, Inc. <br />in the amount of $8,501.85 exceeds the Mayor's contact authority of $5,000.00 and <br />requires the authorization of City Council prior to execution of a contract; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Public <br />Service, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with <br />Automation Mailing and Shipping Solutions, Inc., which includes a customer agreement <br />with FP Mailing Solutions for the rental of the mailing system. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a <br />contract with Automation Mailing and Shipping Solutions, Inc. in the amount of <br />$8,501.85 to provide a postage machine and related services. Said contract shall be in <br />substantially the same form and substance as the contract attached hereto as Exhibit A, <br />with only such changes thereto as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are <br />approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being <br />substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the <br />agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately due to the current machine being removed and the necessity of obtaining the <br />new equipment to ensure continued mail services; and provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: i 1ba`'( First Reading: al -.7-"l <br />Second Reading.
