CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 46 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REESTABLISHING SECTION 139.99 <br />OF CHAPTER 139 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OFPUBLICSAFETY,"FOR THEPURPOSES <br />OF AMENDING THE ORGANIZATION CHART FOR THE DIVISION OF <br />POLICE BY ADDING LANGUAGE "(UP TO 6)" LIEUTENANTS, AND <br />DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council via Ordinance previously established the organization of the <br />Department of Public Safety, including Organizational Charts, for the purpose of, among other <br />things, organizing the divisions and stating the employee complement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety to increase the <br />complement of Lieutenants in the North Olmsted Police Department by amendment of the <br />current organization chart, attached as Exhibit A, and replacement thereof by Exhibit B, for the <br />purpose of allowing for "Police Lieutenants (up to 6)"; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to adopt and implement the amendment of the <br />organizational chart as set forth herein Exhibit B. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 139.99, which presently reads as set forth on the attached <br />and incorporated Exhibit A, shall be amended and as amended shall read in its entirety as set <br />forth on the attached and incorporated Exhibit B, which includes specifically amendment of <br />Section 139.99(b) in order to provide for "Police Lieutenants (up to 6)". <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare; and further <br />provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: First Reading: 5 7- Xy <br />Second Reading: f 31 ✓N <br />Third Readin It -3 ; ki <br />Committee: "`D <br />
