CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 45 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REESTABLISHING SECTION <br />139.99(6) OF CHAPTER 139 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ENTITLED `DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, "FOR THE PURPOSES <br />OF RE -TITLING AN EXISTING POSITION OF "SECRETARY" TO <br />ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT" AND, FURTHER, CREATING A PART <br />TIME POSITION OF PROPERTY ROOM MANAGER" BOTH <br />REPORTING TO THE CHIEF OF POLICE, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council via Ordinance previously established the organization of the <br />Department of Public Safety, including Organizational Charts, for the purpose of, among other <br />things, organizing and/or stating the divisions and employee complement within the Department <br />of Public Safety and Division of Building; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety, together with the Police Chief, recommend <br />amendment of the Organizational Chart for the Division of Police, established in Section <br />139.99(b) in order to re -title the position of "Secretary" to "Administrative Assistant; and in <br />order to create the part time position of"Property Room Manager (PT)"; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to implement the organizational change <br />recommended by the Director of Public Safety as set forth herein Exhibit B. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 139.99 which presently reads as set forth on the attached and <br />incorporated Exhibit A, shall be amended and as amended shall read in its entirety as set forth on <br />the attached and incorporated Exhibit B, which includes amendment of the Organization Chart <br />for the Division of Police pursuant to 139.99(b). <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary to implement changes promptly to increase efficiency in police <br />operations; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED: 1 4U First Reading: —7-,P <br />Second Reading: -5 al $ <br />Third Readin : G —3 ,,r�,�t <br />Committee: i"' A,� e_ <br />
