Overview <br />The predecessor agreement between City of North Olmsted (hereafter the "City" or `Employer") and the <br />FOP (hereafter the "Union') expired December 31, 2023, and covers the ranks of patrolmen, sergeants, and <br />lieutenants. The following outlines the changes to be made to the parties' Agreement should the tentative <br />agreements be accepted by the City. All articles not specifically addressed herein we to remain current <br />contract language. Throughout the Agreement there are minor contract "clean up" changes, such as <br />renumbering and titling of sections to allow for easy and quick identification of applicable contract <br />language. These non -substantive changes are not summarized in full here. <br />Article 1, Recoemitlon <br />The parties agreed to move language in 1.01 "excluding the Chief of Police," to new Section 1.02, Excluded. <br />The parties also added language in 1.02 so that Captains are added to the exclusion and all other employees <br />not specifically included in Section 1 would be excluded from the bargaining unit. Finally, Section 3 will <br />he moved to a new, separate article on its own. <br />NEW Article 2, Bareainine Unit Work/Extra Duty <br />The parties agreed to move what was previously Article 1.03 into its own article. The parties maintained <br />language addressing bargaining mit erosion, and revised the language addressing special duty details to <br />clarify that its requirements are limited to details that are compensated through the City. <br />Article 3, Non -Discrimination <br />The parties agreed to delete language that lists out protected classes. That language is replaced with a <br />recognition and acknowledgment that any allegation of discrimination based on a legally protected <br />classification under State or Federal law shall be processed through external administrative agencies <br />(EEOC/OCRC). <br />The Interactive Meetings section is replaced with the Union's proposed 2.03 language. Language is added <br />that states this meeting shall in no way delay the employee's ability to file any formal charge or complaint <br />with an outside agency. <br />The parties agreed to delete Article 34's gender neutral section and relocate it to Article 3. <br />Article 4. FOP Representation/Union AcNviN <br />"Union Activity" was added to the title of the article along with headings to identify the contents of each <br />section. <br />Article S. Dues Deduction <br />The parties agreed in Section 1 to change language stating bargaining unit members shall become dues <br />paying members to "may" become dues paying members. The CBA cannot mandate that employees must <br />join the union as such would he illegal. <br />Article 6 Work Week/Scheduled Hours <br />The parties revised the structure of this language to differentiate between personnel working 40 -hour <br />workweek under a 7 -day work period and 80 how pay cycles under a 14 -day work period. Overtime would <br />be paid based on hours worked more than the 80 -hour work period for those alternative schedules. <br />4887-7988-7813, m 2 <br />
