CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 64 BY: Mayor Jones AN ORDINANCE APPRO VING AND ADOPTING THE 1024 NORTH OLMSTED PARRS IMPROVEMENT PLAN, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,ASAMENDED. WHEREAS, this Council and the City Administration in 2024 has discussed and analyzed the City's current Parks and Recreation conditions and further discussed improvements that would serve the North Olmsted residents today and well into the future; and WHEREAS, after Administration presentations and discussion among the members of Council over several committee meetings, the Council settled upon a number of improvements at North Olmsted Community Park, Barton Bradley Soccer Fields and Clague Park (See Exhibit A, Proposed Improvements and Summary, attached hereto and incorporated herein); and WHEREAS, proposals for improvements at North Olmsted Community Park include Senior Center Parking Lot Expansion; Bandshell; Playground; Spmyground; Pickleball/fennis Courts; Multi-purpose fields and Baseball fields rehabilitation; East Park Dr. Parking Lot and Trails; Connecting Trails and Southwest Parking Lot along West Park & Lorain Rd. Frontage (Sidewalk and Trees); and WHEREAS, proposals for improvements at Barton Bradley Soccer Fields include paved parking fields where there are currently no improved parking areas; and WHEREAS, proposals for refurbishing and/or new playground equipment at Clague Park; and WHEREAS, the construction of parks and playgrounds is a matter that is referred by the Council to the Planning and Design Commission pursuant to Charter Art. VII, §(d) for report and recommendation; and WHEREAS, after careful consideration, the Planning and Design Commission of the City, on the 26th day of June, 2024, by formal motion, recommended that this Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance Approving and Adopting the 2024 North Olmsted Parks Improvement Plan, and Declaring an Emergency": be (approved) (disapproved); and
