MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 18, 2024 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Limpert, Madden, Scarl and Shymske. <br />Also Present: Mayor Dailey Jones, Assistant Law Director, Finance Director, Human Resource <br />Director, Economic and Community Development Director, Recreation and <br />Public Engagement Director, Safety Director, Service Director and guests. <br />Absent: Law Director <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of lune 4, 2024 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Resolution <br />2024-60 and Resolution 2024-63, and on first reading Ordinance 2024-66 and Ordinance 2024-70. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones swore in new officers, promotions and firefighter/paramedics as noted: <br />o Full -Time Patrol Officers: Jonathan lereb, Kyle Storm, Patrick Kelly, Brandon Barda; <br />o Auxiliary Officers: Jenna Kantorak, Eric Anticola, Robert Richards, Kate McKay; <br />o Promotions: Lieutenant Chuck Fioritto, Lieutenant Rory Kummer, Lieutenant Matt Beck, <br />Sergeant Luke Petrie; <br />o Full -Time Firefighter/Paramedics: Jacqueline Krych, Andrew Collins, Elizabeth Galicki, <br />Noah Mesaros. <br />• Mayor Jones reported the City received news that we are in line to receive seven million dollars <br />in grant funding from three different applications and sources. The draft language for the State <br />Capital Budget came out, which includes $100,000 for pickle ball and $100,000 for Old Town <br />Hall. Additionally, the Administration was informed that the City's two applications, first <br />submitted in 2023, were tentatively approved for $510,000 in County Landbank grant funding, <br />which will cover 75% of the demolition casts for the Forest and Spruce Elementary Schools. <br />Lastly, the Mayor noted that Senator Sherrod Brown earmarked $6.3 million dollars in funding <br />for the multi -use path connected with the Lorain Road Corridor project for the City of North <br />Olmsted. <br />• Mayor Jones, Public Safety Director Scofield and Police Chief Wagner met with Giant Eagle <br />officials to discuss general concerns. Giant Eagle is now, and will be, providing enhanced <br />
