CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 82 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR HER DESIGNEE TO <br />MAKE A GRANT APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED TO THE CUYAHOGA COUNTYBOARD OFDISABILITIES UP TO <br />$70,000.00 FOR EQUIPMENT AT THE NORTH OLMSTED RECREATION <br />CENTER, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT GRANT <br />FUNDS, IFA WARDED, AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACT WITHCUYAHOGA <br />COUNTYIF REQUIRED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is eligible to apply for grant funding administered by <br />the Cuyahoga County Board of Disabilities, which awards funding for equipment to enhance the <br />access and use of recreational facilities by persons with disabilities; and <br />WHEREAS, based on grant requirements and analysis of recreation center facilities, the <br />administration requests authorization to apply for funding to purchase and install universal changing <br />tables within restrooms at the North Olmsted Recreation Center, without any local matching fund <br />requirement of the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor or her designee to apply <br />for such funding up to $10,000.00 and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to execute a <br />contract required to accept such funding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTYOF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor or her designee be and she is hereby authorized to apply for <br />grant funding from the Cuyahoga County Board of Disabilities for up to $10,000.00 in funding <br />without any matching fund requirement in order to provide for universal changing table equipment to <br />be installed at the North Olmsted Recreation Center. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to accept the said funding, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Disabilities, if required. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to meet the <br />application deadline; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />
