CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 84 By: Mayor Jones AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS TO PURCHASE NEW EVENTIDE RECORDER, INCLUDING INTEGRATION AND SUPPORT WITH MOTOROLA 7500 RADIO CONSOLES, THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AT A COST OF $263,000.00, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety, together with the Fire Chief and Police Chief, have recommended that the City of North Olmsted purchase and install a new Eventide Recorder to be integrated with existing Motorola 7500 Radio consoles, including installation, configuration, maintenance and support at State Purchase price in the amount of $263,000.00; and WHEREAS, the existing Eventide recorder, which records all incoming and outgoing emergency calls, was placed in service in 2017 and reached the end of its useable life; the new Eventide recorder expands the capacity of the system to incorporate other Motorola systems including radios; and WHEREAS, Council has and may authorize acquisition of goods and services, without public bidding, through the State Purchase Program, as an exception allowed by Article VIII, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement to purchase, install, integrate, configure and support a new Eventide Recorder from Motorola Systems, pursuant to the State Purchase Program, at a cost of $263,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase through the State Purchase Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to Article VIII, Section 6 of the Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, a new Eventide Recorder from Motorola Systems, as detailed by its Proposal dated 6/11/24, incorporated by reference but not attached, at a cost of $263,000.00, and the Mayor is further authorized to execute additional contract documents, as may be necessary, the legal form for which shall be subject to review by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately to acquire
