CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 85 <br />By: Nicole Dailey Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />THREE (3) YEAR CONTRACT WITH OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, OHIO FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED PROVIDING <br />OLMSTED TOWNSHIP WITH POLICE AND FIRE DISPATCHING <br />SERVICE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted presently operates its own professional dispatch <br />center within the North Olmsted Division of Police; and <br />WHEREAS, the three (3) year contract commences January 1, 2025 and will end on <br />December 31, 2027, unless a one-year option is agreed upon; and <br />WHEREAS, Olmsted Township will pay to the City of North Olmsted $300,000.00 in <br />year one (1), payable in quarterly installments, with an annual three percent (3%) increase in each <br />subsequent year, including the option year if elected; and <br />WHEREAS, without professional, full time dispatchers on Township staff, Olmsted <br />Township has proposed to the City of North Olmsted that its professional dispatchers begin <br />dispatching for police and fire service in Olmsted Township; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has the capacity and facilities to accommodate <br />the request of Olmsted Township and the City Administration recommends that the City of North <br />Olmsted enter into a contract with Olmsted Township to provide the services as described herein. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a three (3) <br />year contract with Olmsted Township for the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, <br />2027, with a one (1) year option, in the base amount of $300,000.00, plus annual 3% increases, <br />for the City of North Olmsted to provide police and fire dispatch services to Olmsted Township. <br />The contract shall be in forth and substance substantially similar to the attached contract, marked <br />as Exhibit A, with such additional negotiated changes in form and substance that are not <br />substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character <br />of the agreement as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by <br />the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the contract by the Director of <br />Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that this Resolution and corresponding agreement will be in effect prior to - or <br />
